I am compiling another list of fairytale adaptations through tv and movies. Since I’m going through multiple fairytales, I’m only counting the top 5 adaptations people should check out. So far, Youtube has been a wonderful archive site for these forgotten versions.

The Snow Queen- Synopsis: Kai and Gerda are best friends and next door neighbors. One day while hanging out, a n ice shard gets lodged into Kai’s eye making him hate Gerda. Soon after, the Snow Queen kidnaps Kai unleashing a perpetual winter upon the land. Now it’s up to Gerda to save her best friend from the Snow Queen’s clutches.

Puss in Boots- Synopsis: Puss in Boots is the pet cat of the miller’s son. The miller falls in love with the king’s daughter but can’t woo her due to differences in social status. Puss offers his service to help boost his master’s social status and gain the princess’s hand in marriage.
